as a knick fan I fully endorse this letter; although I think Wade would be a better sidekick to lebron than Johnson. there would be no ego issue whatsoever, both are friends!
I think another way to accomplish this would be to sign LeBron & Lee. Then do a sign & trade for Johnson. The Knicks could use someone like Curry/Jeffries to match salaries and sweeten the pot with Hill or Douglas. Perhaps even Nate Robinson could be used in such a deal as well (I'm thinking
Brian– are you sure Lee can’t be used in an “extend-and-trade” type deal before the deadline? It seems ambiguous whether he is still technically on his rookie contract or not. If not, then I’m starting to wonder why Walsh didn’t lock Lee up long term last summer, knowing that as long as he didn’t get hurt
"Can we all please stop holding a torch for the supposed JJ + Nate for Kenny Thomas’ expiring contract trade. It was a rumor." Didn't you cite this "rumor" in your piece last week (Trade Numero Uno I believe it was). "It’s like still being pissed that Isiah Thomas retired in ‘93 rather than be traded to
The problem with guys like Sheridan and Ford is that they often are "plugged in," so they often can get good info. But when it comes to speculating, they're not very good.
The only chats I read from the NBA writers on ESPN.com are Hollinger's and Thorpe's.
Sheridan continues his ridiculous chat answers with the followng: And to clarify for everyone, if the Knicks get LeBron they CANNOT afford to keep David Lee. They won't have enough space left (unless they deal Jeffries/Curry for expiring contracts by Feb. 18). what they can do, however, is use David Lee/Nate Robinson/Al Harrington/Larry Hughes in

4th player in NBA history to score 50 points for 3 different teams, joining Wilt, Bernard King and Moses Malone.
one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn’t belong…
There’s no option for “all of the above”. I’d probably go with the 18 free throws if I had to choose. That’s a career high, right?
Beat his personal record of 16:

Oh his second highest, 16 free throws, was as also a member of Golden State. The most he ever did for the Knicks was 15. Wonder what Nellie is doing to get him to get to the hoop. Free plaid sweater with each 10 FTA game?

Jamal Crawford’s whole career summed up in 2 games:
Fri. vs. Atlanta – 3-15, 6 pts., 3 TO’s
Sat. vs. Charlotte – 14-26, 50 pts. 1 TO
From the sublime to the ridiculous, or is it the other way around?
PS Wasn’t the “defensive specialist” Raja Bell guarding Crawford last night?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2008122030
Crawford continually beat Raja Bell and Raymond Felton off the dribble for layups or fouls, bringing the type of explosive offense the Warriors envisioned when they sent Al Harrington to the Knicks to get him.
“I feel like I can pretty much get any shot I want,” Crawford said. “I let people off the hook by settling for jump shots.”
…
“Basically you’ve got a guy out there with his confidence as high as the sky and he’s only playing one end,” Wallace said of Crawford. “He’s only playing offense, so what can you say?”
how many offensive possesions did the Warrior have that game? Is there not a points per possession advanced statistic that we could use to give this some context?
that offense is perfect for Crawford not surprised he can score, dont really care either.
I think I hurt myself as I slapped my face when that ball just bounced out of bounds with Harrington looking on and Duhon _backing up_.
Wow, is this varsity vs. JV? I don’t think the Knicks have contested a single shot yet. The only drama in this game will be if they cover the 15 point spread.
I was thinking, “what the heck” when I saw that sequence, weird…
That’s just a shocking quote. The free throw attempts is the first thing that jumped out at me when looking at his stat line. I remember his last 50 point game, and he was just lucky – hitting every shot. I think he had 4 or 5 free throws that game, not 18. For years we had to suffer through Crawford’s 22 footer off balance crossovers, and now he realizes you can dribble the ball all the way up to the hoop?
What gets me is that Crawford has been coached by a Hall of Fame player and two Hall of Fame coaches, and no one suggested this to him until now? Hence why I don’t by the infallibility of NBA coaches, front offices, etc. (Well that and guys like Ben Wallace being undervalued for half his career).
BTW Jamal never answered my question:

And overvalued for the 2nd half.
